Maja Kotecka – New Year’s Collection 2007

The evening and cocktail dresses establish a connection in colour with the compulsory trends of the season. Colours such as amaranth, turquoise, violet, silver and black are present. The cuts are diverse, the kimono cut is present and the bottoms of the dresses resemble the ‘tulip’ shape. The apparent simple cut of dresses is diversified by draperies, creases and folds. The lengths also vary – from the asymmetric mini with the delicacy of draperies to the maxi length with the bottom in the shape of bell-glass and a deep neckline. All the dresses are fitted to the woman’s shape. The materials are soft, shining with the overall effect of layering – silk satin, stretchy velvet, shining lycra and the delicateness of chiffon. The effect of ‘shine’ is emphasized by delicate details – sequins and decorative stones.
