Dorota Zielinska – Autumn-Winter 2007/2008 collection

The inspiration for making of every collection is the moment in which I touch the material. In case of the winter collection the process was exactly the same. I like to spend time in warehouses, shops and material storehouses, finding those materials with unusual texture, sometimes curious smell, overall difficult. From my voyages I always bring back pieces of materials, which I later use for creating my collection. It is important to me to emphasize with clothes what is most beautiful in a woman, the slim neck, the breast curves, the tight waist and the curvy hips. So what characterizes this collection are high necklines, long sleeves with the openings for thumbs, buttons covered with material tided in loops, which run all over the spine, strong emphasis on the waistline. I try to be as close to the simple form as possible and choose good quality materials, which I intertwine with those used in the punk or grunge look. Black and grey colours are a result of the reality seen through a window.
