„The Golden Thread” – Złota Nitka

In the days of 25th and 26th of May the annual Fashion Design competition took place in Lodz. The organizer is the International Lodz Fair. This year the Young Polish Designers Foundation showed its collections as a special guest at the Golden Thread Competition. This kind of gala is the oldest and most prestigious event for young people who are fascinated with the art of fashion design and fashion creation. In the previous years many known personas in the Polish fashion market took part in it. As an example it is worth mentioning names such as: Jacek Gmach, Brzozowski & Paprocki, Monika Onoszko, Maciej Zień, grupa Transmode, Sergiusz Kuchczyński.
The competition was often a springboard to future fame. On special shows collections were presented by: Jerzy Antkowiak, Halina Zawadzka (Hexeline), Michał Starost, MMC, Natalia Jaroszewska czy duet Paprocki & Brzozowski.
This year on the first day of the Gala, the guests and finalists of the competition were able to see collections of young and gifted designers who cooperate with YPDF: Sylwia Majdan, duet Wołczyńska & Sobiczewska, Dezydery "dyZ" Kowalkowski, Przemysław Świtalski, Ewelina Wróblewska and duet Femini.
The invitation for YPDF was made due to its similarity in missions between the idea of both organizations. YPDF has been born in order to promote and help out new talents in the field of fashion and also to organize fashion shows and to help out financially.
